TAG: The Adaptation Game
Prepare for climate crisis in your town
TAG is a playful workshop that simulates how you and your community respond to the next ten years of climate change in your town.
Face imaginary climate disasters that are realistic for your town, based on local and global science
Imagine yourself making preparations both as an individual, and in connection with your local community
Get unstuck in your climate change prep thanks to a gripping imaginary scenario
Meet like-minded people and learn about local programs that you can tap into, as part of a half-day facilitated workshop

On the horizon...
We're working on a kit that will allow anyone to try TAG at home, right at the kitchen table. Stay tuned!
A facilitated, cooperative experience
We've designed TAG to be accessible to everyone. Even though it has "game" in the name, it's more of a platform for a community conversation. It is definitely not like Monopoly!
You don't need to be a gamer or "good at games"
In TAG you all work together, so there's no winners or losers
You'll be seated with 3 other community members, and 1 facilitator who will guide you every step of the way
The game itself lasts about 3 hours, and usually run as part of a larger workshop where you can meet like-minded folks and representatives from local organisations
The game is aimed at adults, deals with intense topics, and may not hold the attention of younger folks
During the imaginary scenario presented to you, you'll make choices like:
How to spend your available energy to make adaptations to your lifestyle
What to give up and what to maintain when times get tough
How to deal with some particularly trying moments during climate disasters
How to influence council to launch the kind of programs that would help you
How to come together with your community to become resilient
A customised community climate workshop for your local council
The Adaptation Game is a workshop for local governments to raise awareness and grow capacity towards climate-resilient communities. It is designed for people who accept climate change, but may feel uncertain about what they can meaningfully do about it.
